The Area

Turkey’s Turquoise Coast

The South Western corner of Turkey is known as the Turquoise Coast and is one of the jewels in the Turkey’s tourist industry crown. It has been a magnet for travellers, tourists and writers for many years.

Stretching from Bodrum on the Aegean coast right round to Antalya on the Mediterranean coast, it is crammed with beautiful scenery, amazing historical sites and breathtaking mountains ranges. Over the years small fishing villages have grown into fully fledged towns, eager to service the needs of tourists from around Europe and further afield.

Whether sailing the turquoise waters on a gulet (traditional wooden yacht), exploring the Lycian, Roman and Ancient Greek sites, walking along sections of the famous Lycian Way, or just lazing away on a stretch of golden sand, this region has plenty to satisfy the needs of the most demanding tourist.

Of course many of these tourists have now turned into holiday home owners, or full time ex-pat residents and the demand for suitable properties has fuelled a building boom over the last eight years.

Dalaman was slow to catch onto this demand. It saw itself mainly as just an airport destination but then realised it had so much to offer in its own right, so Dalaman became more than just an airport.

Dalaman offers:

A stunning area of natural beauty

Easy access to the South-West coastal region

A good sized ex-pat community

Affordable property
